Third Annual New York State Hepatitis C Elimination Progress Report Meeting and Abstract Submission

Dear Colleagues,

The AIDS Institute Bureau of Hepatitis Health Care and Epidemiology is pleased to announce the third Annual New York State (NYS) Hepatitis C Elimination Progress Report Meeting will be held virtually from 10 am – 2 pm on May 14, 2025, in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The theme of this year’s meeting is syndemics

The purpose of this meeting is to share New York’s progress toward reaching its elimination goals and spotlight promising practices from across the State. The keynote address will be provided by Boatemaa Ntiri-Reid, JD, MPH, Senior Director of Syndemic Approaches, National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD).  Opening remarks will be provided by Dr. Brianna Norton, Deputy Medical Director, AIDS Institute.  The meeting wrap up will be presented by Dr. Anthony Martinez from Erie County Medical Center.  New York State and New York City will provide a review of the elimination metrics as well as programmatic, policy and other significant accomplishments.

We are seeking community presentations, again this year, on promising and innovative programs to support New York’s hepatitis C elimination work.  Abstracts are due by January 15, 2025. Proposals that include meaningful involvement of people with lived experience of hepatitis C are particularly encouraged. Priority will be given to submissions that address the theme of syndemics by incorporating the intersection of hepatitis C with other health conditions and root causes. For example, injection drug use and hepatitis C, HIV/hepatitis C coinfection, or the impact of housing insecurity on hepatitis C.

Please encourage programs to submit an abstract here:
